We had a late breakfast at the hotel and checked out at noon. Our pickup for our cruise arrived at 3:00, Captain Laurent, the boat's captain. The drive to Marseillan on the Etang de Thau took about an hour. We are docked overnight in Marseillan.
An etang is pond. In this case, a very, very, VERY big pond separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a long spit of land.
Our home for
the next week, the Anjodi, a former barge and now luxury canal boat. We are five guests total, Ron and Sonya from
Texas and Carol from Iowa.

| The top deck set up for dinner. |
After we were all settled in we took an afternoon cruise out on the Etang de Thau.
We sailed past the oyster beds. Thirty some kilometers of them.
Then it was back to the dock and a wonderful dinner on the top deck. The food was excellent.
