Checked out first thing this morning and went in search of the Pink Granite coast. It was just around the corner from our hotel. Giant pink granite rocks were everywhere.
And a lovely coastline.
We noticed that the granite was used everywhere...walls, houses, walkways, and this small nearby church.
And the nearby Phare de Mean Ruz lighthouse...made of pink granite.
Then we hit the road for our next destination…the shoreline around Trebeurden. There is an island here that can be walked to when the tide is out. But it is messy and muddy. The tide was out and it is obvious that the bay here is very, very shallow as the mud flats went on forever.
By late afternoon we were in Morlaix (pronounced more-lay). Our hotel is behind the city hall and a block from the imposing train viaduct.
We like to have a safe in our hotel rooms so that we can protect valuables. This hotel had the smallest safes we have ever seen anywhere. Only thing possible to get into this safe is a small coin purse or maybe a couple of passports. Nothing else.
